Pheif's Garden

Then there's this guy

Me and My Shadow - Part 4.

Pheif is doing well with her chemotherapy treatments every three weeks. She tends to cooperate with Dr. Ford who is her Oncologist however gives the technicians a fiesty time but she's good as gold when we pick her up!! She continues to battle through the 72 hours of critical care after which she keeps herself busy following me, checking on me, reminding us when we are not paying enough attention to her, and finding sun spots to stretch out in, sleeping and other stuff.

She and her sister Mickey terrorized a little bird that flew in through a window I inadvertently left open. I rescued him clinging for life to one of the windows in the kitchen. Poor thing, managed to lose quite a number of feathers from his wings and most of his tail feathers. There were feathers everywhere and the two little buggers were now fast asleep .. tough work Mum oh and sorry about the mess. Just so you know, the bird survived.

She's enjoyed the Fall weather and had fun looking at the leaves as they fell into her garden area. We'd stand at the window at night [with her cuddled in my arms] and she could see all the little bugs flying around in the dark. Never got bored with that .. of course I couldn't see what she could.

Those of you who have seen our very large Christmas tree in the backyard for the past 3 years know what I am referring to next. We brought the tree in the 2nd week of November and after letting it rest for a couple of days, we raised her up [with help from Todd and his friend Moran]. It was quite late on a Wednesday night and Pheif was downstairs. Pheifer had to be right in the middle of things. I made numerous trips in the house and every time she got up and was right there in the thick of things .. wanting to help. I left the door open a couple of times and almost lost the little one as she escaped to see the tree. We finished decorating the tree the following weekend when we had a blast of summer weather and she sat on a little bed I made for her on the back porch and supervised. She was so happy to be in the fresh air and sunshine. The tree and decorations are up and we look at them often. The wild birds love sitting and singing in the freshly cut fir and fly to the bird feeder by the living room window. Last Christmas we had over 120 singing live ornaments on the tree.

These pictures were taken as the weather got colder and with her thinning fur she needed some protection when out in her garden. My sister sent her this outfit, yeah Pheif has reached a new dimension in fashion. Very cute..

Thanks again to our family and friends who continue to support Bill and I through our little girl's chemotherapy treatments. Pheif's love of life makes this all worthwhile. We are truly blessed to share her in our lives
